Picture Archiving and
Communications Systems (PACS) coordinate all aspects
of digital imaging in your hospital or Radiology imaging
center. This includes (but not limited to)

| • |
Capturing images from DICOM
and non-DICOM compliant imaging modalities and video
sources |
| • |
Storing this clinical information in
a secure environment |
| • |
Distributing and displaying both clinical
images and corresponding diagnostic information throughout
your hospital or clinic. |
| • |
Handling studies with comprehensive
diagnostic tools. |
A successful PACS should also integrate with your existing
hospital systems to share information as necessary. For
example, your facility can implement MedEx-RIS™ (Radiology
Information System) that manages exam appointments, scheduling,
and billing procedures. This system can be seamlessly integrate
with the PACS to share information about the scheduled exams.
Typical PACS Components Most
PACS systems are made up of individual components that act
as building blocks to your total PACS solution.
1. Server
Solutions We offer a variety of Server-side options
to meet your functional and budgetary needs. Generally server
solutions are made up of individual components such as:
• Core Hardware (ranging from stand alone server,
and up to full cluster system)
• Core storage (ranging from internal hard disks,
and up to SAN / NAS storage systems)
• Database management system (such as MS-SQL, Oracle,
SyBase, etc.)
• PaxStore™ application that acts as the core
PACS / DICOM server software
2. Image
Acquisition Solutions: Typical PACS systems acquire
exam images in a variety of ways. Some imaging modalities
can send images and related information directly to the
PACS using DICOM . while other non-digital imaging modalities
require alternative acquisition solutions, such as film
scanners, to incorporate the clinical information into electronic
exams.
• Non-DICOM acquisition
using computer hardware running TelePax-AQS™ software.
• Digital conversion (According to ACR/NEMA standards)
using using computer hardware running TelePax-AQS™
software.
• Film Digitizers connected to computer hardware running
TelePax-AQS™ software.
3. Viewing
Solutions: For displaying clinical images and related
information from the PACS and usually provide manipulation,
annotation, and measurement tools to review exam images.
Additional capabilities, such as 3D or speech recognition
reporting, may also be incorporated into the viewing solution.
• TelePax-DVS™ the standard diagnostic Viewing
Stations
• TelePax-DVS-Pro™ the professional edition
of our comprehensive diagnostic station
• Hardware configuration may vary from PC computer,
and up to 2 or 4 medical monitors
4. Image
Distribution: By implementing WebPax™, your
authorized physicians can access the patient's studies,
using Internet Browser running on their computers, without
compromising of any feature or function of ull PACS system.
• Suitable hardware setup (in terms of servers and
storage).
• accessible network for your users (LAN/WAN)
• WebPax™ software with minimum administration
efforts.
5. Beyond
PACS system: There are other services and functions
can be integrated into typical PACS network, among these
functions:
• 3D/MPR/MIP functions for the Diagnostic Viewing
Station
• Speciality Workstation, such as (Cath Lab, Doppler,
CT station, and C-Arm stations
• Speech Recognition Systems and reporting tools
• Integration with MedEx-RIS™ the most comprehensive
suit for Radiology Information System
